spamControl is a small PHP script that forces visitors to challenge a captcha before they can continue (with whatever). The script was made for phpBB 2 and 3 forums, but can also be used with any other solutions.
The script prompt a captcha challenge on:
- Signups
- Guest posting
My experience:
I have been running three forum networks with 1000+ forums for several years and spam is (was) a major problem. After installing spamControl the spam posts and signups stopped.
